Sedaris film to be screened at opening of Outfest film festival

LOS ANGELES, May 18 (UPI) -- The first film based on the work of humor writer David Sedaris was selected to screen on opening night of Los Angeles' Outfest, The Hollywood Reporter said.

"C.O.G." debuted at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and will be screened July 11 at the Opening Night Gala of the 31st Outfest film festival at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The film is based on a short story by Sedaris and was written and directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez. "C.O.G." stars Jonathon Groff, Denis O'Hare, Corey Stoll, Dean Stockwell and Casey Wilson.

Outfest is the United States' leading LGBT film festival and the oldest one in Los Angeles. It will be held July 11-21.
