LOS ANGELES, May 12 (UPI) --
"Iron Man 3" won the No. 1 spot at the box office for the second weekend in a row with $72.472 million.
The film, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow, took in a whopping $175.3 million last weekend. It was the second highest North American opening in history, USA Today reported.
Also this weekend, "The Great Gatsby (2013)," starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, did well, taking in $51.115 million for second place.
All studio estimates of gross box office receipts are via Box Office Mojo.
"Pain and Gain" was a distant third with $5 million; "Tyler Perry Presents Peeples" fourth with $4.85 million; "42" fifth with $4.65 million; "Oblivion" sixth with $3.864 million; "The Croods" seventh with $3.6 million; "The Big Wedding" eighth with $2.5 million; "Mud" ninth with $2.343 million.
"Oz The Great and Powerful" was 10th with $802,000.
