MARINA DEL REY, Calif., April 29 (UPI) -- Former Major League Baseball player and '90s sports movie actor Brad Lesley has died in California at the age of 54.

Lesley had suffered kidney problems and died of kidney failure Saturday at a hospital in Marina Del Rey, his ex-wife, Chiho Svimonoff, told TMZ.

He had been receiving dialysis at a nursing home where he had been living for the past seven months, Svimonoff said.

Lesley played for the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers from 1982 to 1985 and had roles in the films "Little Big League" (1994), "Mr. Baseball" (1992) and "Space Jam" (1996).
