'Scandal' star Tony Goldwyn joins 'Divergent' cast

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 16 (UPI) -- "Scandal" star Tony Goldwyn has joined the cast of the science-fiction flick "Divergent," now shooting in Chicago, producers announced.

The Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate collaboration stars Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Ray Stevenson, Mekhi Phifer, Theo James, Maggie Q, Jai Courtney, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Ben Lamb, Christian Madsen and Amy Newbold.

The futuristic action-adventure film is based on author Veronica Roth's best-selling young adult novel. It is due in theaters March 21, 2014.

Neil Burger is directing the movie from a script by Vanessa Taylor.
