LOS ANGELES, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Publicists for Josh Brolin and Diane Lane told UsMagazine.com Thursday the Hollywood couple have split up and intend to divorce.

"Diane Lane and Josh Brolin have decided to end their marriage," the representatives said in a statement.

"It was a mutual decision. It is very amicable. It's not ugly, it's just over," an insider told the magazine.

No other details were immediately available.

The film stars married in 2004 and have no children.

People.com said Brolin was arrested for spousal battery four months after marrying Lane, but the actress declined to press charges.

Brolin -- who was nominated for a supporting actor Oscar for "Milk" in 2008 -- was arrested for public intoxication Dec. 31, People.com said.

The "True Grit" and "No Country for Old Men" actor is the son of actor James Brolin and stepson of singer Barbra Streisand.

Lane was a best actress nominee for "Unfaithful" in 2002. Her film credits include "The Outsiders," "Under the Tuscan Sun" and "The Perfect Storm."
