LOS ANGELES, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Hollywood screen icon Harrison Ford is to reprise his role of intergalactic smuggler Han Solo in an upcoming "Star Wars" sequel, Latino Review reported Friday.

Ford, 70, played the handsome, wisecracking hero in "Star Wars: A New Hope," "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi."

Hollywood's Walt Disney Co. recently confirmed it is working on several standalone "Star Wars" movies, as well as three sequels to the established six-movie saga.

However, no plot lines or release dates for the spinoff flicks have been officially announced.

The first sequel is set for release in 2015.
