LOS ANGELES, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- The stars of the superhero ensemble picture "Marvel's the Avengers" are to serve as presenters at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles, producers said.

Cast-mates Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo are to take the Oscar stage together Feb. 24, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced Wednesday.

"We are happy to re-unite the 'Avengers' cast to present on our show," Zadan and Meron said in a joint statement Wednesday. "Audiences who enjoyed the year's biggest box-office hit will be excited to see these terrific actors back together again."

Writer-director-comedian Seth MacFarlane is to serve as host of the Oscars, which will honor outstanding achievements in film for 2012.
