MIAMI, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Burt Reynolds' publicist says the flu-stricken, 76-year-old actor is being treated in the intensive care unit of a Florida hospital.

TMZ said Reynolds was coping with the symptoms at home for several days but went to the hospital when the symptoms got worse.

His representative told the celebrity news website the actor was moved to the ICU Friday because he was "severely dehydrated." He is expected to make a full recovery, however.

Reynolds' film credits include "Smokey and the Bandit," "White Lightning," "The Longest Yard" and "Boogie Nights."
