7 films qualify for hair/makeup Oscar

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Seven films remain in competition in the makeup and hairstyling category for Hollywood's 85th Academy Awards ceremony, organizers said.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said the films that qualify for nomination in the category are "Hitchcock," "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," "Les Miserables," "Lincoln," "Looper," "Men in Black 3" and "Snow White and the Huntsman."

The list will be whittled down to three when Academy Award nominations are announced Jan. 10.

Oscar winners will presented with their prizes Feb. 24.
