LOS ANGELES, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor and writer Dan Aykroyd says he would like to see the long-gestating "Ghostbusters 3" made some time in the very near future.

Aykroyd told Esquire magazine there is a script for the second sequel, but as of right now no plans to shoot it.

"We can't wait forever. And now's the time to tell the picture company, and I'd say this quite publicly, it's time now to sit down and make this movie, or you will lose your main principals, and you won't be able to make it without us, because we have rights, and now is time to make the movie," EW.com quoted Aykroyd as telling the magazine. "You don't take advantage of that in the next three or four months, I'll see you in Australia, where we'll be selling Crystal Head [Akyroyd's vodka brand]."

Aykroyd wrote the 1980s supernatural comedies "Ghostbusters" and "Ghostbusters 2" with co-star Harold Ramis. The Columbia Pictures films also featured Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Rick Moranis.
