LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Hollywood screenwriter Aaron Sorkin says the Steve Jobs bio-picture he is penning will be divided into three scenes.

"I hope I don't get killed by the studio for giving too much away," the Los Angeles Times quoted Sorkin as saying at an event Thursday for Newsweek and the Daily Beast. "This entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only."

Each 30-minute segment of "Steve Jobs" will take place backstage before one of the late Apple co-founder's historic product launches for the original Macintosh, NeXT and the iPod, the Times said.

Sorkin, who wrote the Oscar-winning screenplay for the 2010 Facebook picture "The Social Network," said he never met Jobs but spoke to him many times by phone and has been interviewing those who knew him well for the upcoming film about his life.

"I've been able to talk to these people who revere him in spite of the fact that he made all of them cry at one point or another," Sorkin said. "But he made all of them better at what they were doing."

Jobs died of cancer last year. He was 56.
