VATICAN CITY, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- The film critic for the official Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano has given a glowing review to the latest James Bond adventure, "Skyfall."

The Hollywood Reporter noted the publication allotted as much space for the Wednesday movie critique as it did to an article about the 500th anniversary of the historic Sistine Chapel.

In addition to the "Skyfall" review, the Roman Catholic Church's newspaper also published an interview with current Bond portrayer Daniel Craig and provided other information about the secret agent 007 franchise in a full-page spread.

Critic Gaetano Vallini described Craig's Bond as "less of a cliche, less attracted by the pleasures of life" than other big-screen incarnations of the character.

Vallini also said the spy is "darker and more introspective" and because of this "he is more human, even able to be moved and cry," The Hollywood Reporter said, adding the review is good news for the film's producers since the church has 1 billion followers worldwide.

"Skyfall" is in international theaters now. It opens in North America Nov. 9.
