LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- "Hugo" and "Rango" screenwriter John Logan is penning original screenplays for the next two James Bond movies, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The two-part saga is not based on any books by secret agent 007 creator Ian Fleming.

Logan -- who received Oscar nominations for "Gladiator," "The Aviator" and "Hugo" -- co-wrote "Skyfall," the newest Bond flick, with Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

"Skyfall," starring Daniel Craig as Bond for the third time, is set for release Nov. 9.
