Indian director Yash Chopra dies

BANDRA, India, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Indian director, screen writer and film producer Yash Chopra has died, a source told The Times of India. He was 80.

The director died from multiple organ failure due to a battle with dengue, said the hospital source, whose name was not reported. Chopra had been admitted to Lilavati hospital in Bandra Oct. 13.

"He had been suffering from complications of dengue for a long time," the source said.

At the time of his death, Chopra was making his latest film, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan," the Times reported.

Chopra is survived by his wife, Pamela, and their two sons, Aditya and Uday.
