LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles says it plans to honor Daniel Day-Lewis at the 2012 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards next month.

The star of "Lincoln," "There Will Be Blood," "Gangs of New York" and "My Left Foot" will be presented with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film at the Nov. 7 gala dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Proceeds from the gala ceremony support BAFTA Los Angeles' ongoing education, scholarship, community outreach and archival projects.

"We are thrilled to bestow Daniel with this prestigious award. His remarkable body of work ensures that this honor is more than well-deserved, and we are excited to include him among the other esteemed honorees of the evening," Britannia Chairman Nigel Lythgoe said in a statement Thursday.
