NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan was arrested in New York Wednesday for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident after hitting a pedestrian with her car, authorities said.

The 26-year-old actress is accused of hitting a man in his 30s with her Porsche Cayenne while she was parking the vehicle at the Dream Hotel in Manhattan at around 2 a.m., TMZ reported.

Someone called police after Lohan went inside the hotel and she was arrested when she left about 30 minutes later.

Lohan was booked for leaving the scene of an accident, then issued a desk appearance ticket and released from police custody, TMZ said.

Police don't think alcohol was involved in the incident and witnesses said the alleged victim had no visible injuries.

The "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" actress, who has been battling drug and alcohol addition for years, is on probation for stealing a necklace in Los Angeles. She also was previously convicted of drunk driving, as well as various motor vehicle and probation violations.
