Chippendales: Harry not likely to be guest

LONDON, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- A Chippendales spokesman told United Press International he doubted Britain's Prince Harry would be a guest host with the Las Vegas male erotic dance troupe.

The company, which performs at Las Vegas' Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, reached out to people connected with Harry Thursday to let them know of its interest, Michael Caprio told UPI.

The group, known for its dancers' distinctive upper-body costume of a bowtie and shirt cuffs worn on an otherwise bare torso, "went through a contact to get a PR contact with the royal family," Caprio said.

"We don't know if it's direct access to him," Caprio said. "Our hopes are high," he said.

When asked by UPI if Chippendales' hopes were really high, he stressed the word "our" in repeating "our hopes are high," then added, "I doubt it's going to happen."

Harry is back in London.

U.S. gossip Web site TMZ initially reported the company's Las Vegas troupe reached out to the royalty "to gauge his interest in being our next guest host."

A high-profile British publicist told the BBC Friday "two different" American women approached him separately Thursday to say they had photos of Prince Harry at his VIP suite the night of the naked party.

Max Clifford -- the highest-profile and best-known publicist in Britain, who is sometimes controversial for representing unpopular clients -- said he turned them down.

"Two people at that party approached me [to ask] would I represent them and would I sell their photos, and I said no," he told the BBC in a phone interview.

"Because in any situation, where people approach me -- and I never approach them, whether it's for PR representation or anything like this -- I've got to justify it to myself," he told the network. "To me, I couldn't do that."

He didn't say if he knew if the women intended to approach other publicists.

The nude cellphone photos of Harry's "strip pool" party at the five-star Encore Las Vegas luxury resort, casino and hotel were published in Britain Friday in Rupert Murdoch's tabloid The Sun.

Report: Cruise to pay 400K annual support

NEW YORK, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Katie Homes's divorce agreement with actor Tom Cruise includes $400,000 in annual child support, the gossip Web site TMZ reported Friday.

The actress who was a regular on the former teen drama series "Dawson's Creek" and appeared in the "Batman Begins" superhero film, gets no alimony, the Web site said.

The $400,000 in child support for 6-year-old daughter Suri comes out to $33,333.33 a month.

The money will be paid by electronic transfer, the site said.

Cruise must pay the support for 12 years, until Suri turns 18, which comes out to $4.8 million.

Cruise must also pay Suri's expenses, including medical, dental, insurance, private-school and college tuition and extracurricular costs, the site said.

Suri is to attend New York City's all-girls Convent of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic school starting next month. She was previously home-schooled.

The couple agreed Suri would not attend a "residential school" from now through her high school years.

That means the girl "can't be shipped off to boarding school -- Scientology or otherwise," TMZ said.

Cruise is known for his support of and adherence to the Church of Scientology.

TMZ called the child support payments "modest," calling them "nothing" compared to Cruise's $250 million fortune.

Holmes, 33, filed for divorce from Cruise, 50, in June after five years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Cruise was reportedly blindsided by the divorce filing, the New York Daily News reported, but an air-tight prenuptial agreement let him keep his massive Hollywood fortune.

The divorce settlement, announced July 9, was finalized by a New York state Supreme Court judge Monday.

This is Holmes' first divorce and Cruise's third.

Police: Travis not drunk in minor assault

PLANO, Texas, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- U.S. country gospel music singer Randy Travis was not drunk when he was cited for assault after having a minor altercation with a man in Texas, police told UPI.

"The assault was very minor," Plano, Texas, officer David Tilley told United Press International Friday afternoon.

"He was issued a ticket for the Class C assault, which is the lowest penalty anyone can be charged with here in Texas," Tilley said.

The gossip Web site TMZ earlier reported Travis was involved in a drunken fight with a man in a Plano church parking lot.

"I don't know who their source is. I don't care who their source is. I'm going to go based on the official police report," Tilley told UPI.

Tilley said police responded to a disturbance call between 10 and 10:30 p.m. Thursday night in the giant parking lot outside the Prestonwood Baptist Church, one of the largest megachurches in North America.

"A husband and wife who are estranged had a verbal altercation," Tilley said. "The wife is a female acquaintance of Mr. Travis. He intervened and allegedly assaulted the husband."

"There were no reported injuries," he said. "Transport to the hospital was refused."

Travis was issued the citation and released.

"There is nothing in the official police report to indicate anyone at the incident was intoxicated," Tilley told UPI.

TMZ quoted an unidentified law-enforcement source as saying Travis appeared to be "extremely intoxicated."

Tilley also said he "was not given any indicators [Travis] was uncooperative at all. It does not appear there were any issues at all in dealing with him."

Travis has had alcohol-related police run-ins in recent months, Tilley said, but "this is a separate incident and needs to be looked at on a separate basis."

Travis, 53, was arrested Aug. 7 after being found naked, drunk and passed out in the middle of a road in Grayson County, Texas, after crashing his 1998 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in a construction zone. When police tried to arrest him, he allegedly threatened the lives of the arresting officers, police said at the time.

They arrested him for driving while intoxicated and for retaliation against law enforcement officials. He posted $21,500 bail.

Travis was arrested Feb. 6 for public intoxication while sitting in his car at a Baptist church in Sanger, Texas. He paid a fine and was placed on probation that is to expire Sept. 23.

Reports: Scott's death note left few clues

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Director Tony Scott's suicide note did not explain why he jumped off a Los Angeles bridge, law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times.

It's possible authorities may never know for sure why the 68-year-old British director, who had just completed a new movie, committed suicide, the sources told the newspaper.

Sources familiar with the investigation told the gossip Web site TMZ the note was "short and sweet" and said he loved his wife Actress Donna Wilson Scott and their 12-year-old twin sons, Max and Frank.

Scott jumped 185 feet to his death in Los Angeles Harbor from a suspension bridge around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

His films included "Top Gun," "Beverly Hills Cop II," "Crimson Tide," "Enemy of the State," "Deja Vu," "The Taking of Pelham 123" and "Unstoppable."

He was the younger brother of fellow director Ridley Scott, whose best-known works include "Blade Runner," "Thelma & Louise," "Gladiator," "Black Hawk Down," "Matchstick Men," "Kingdom of Heaven," "American Gangster," "Robin Hood" and "Prometheus."
