Jena Malone up for 'Catching' role

LOS ANGELES, July 3 (UPI) -- Jena Malone has been offered the role of Johanna Mason in "Catching Fire," the next installment in "The Hunger Games" franchise, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The character also will appear in the final movie, "Mockingjay," the entertainment trade industry newspaper said.

Shooting on "Catching Fire" is expected to begin in September.

Malone recently starred in the History channel's miniseries "Hatfields & McCoys." Her big-screen credits include "Pride and Prejudice" and "Sucker Punch."
