TORONTO, June 27 (UPI) -- A remake of the horror classic "Carrie," starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore and Judy Greer, has begun shooting in Toronto, MGM said Wednesday.

Peirce's directing credits include "Stop-Loss," "The L-Word' and "Boys Don't Cry," which she also wrote.

"Carrie" is slated for a 2013 theatrical release.
