LOS ANGELES, June 12 (UPI) -- Ann Rutherford, an actress famous for her work in "Gone with the Wind" and the Andy Hardy movies, has died at her home in Beverly Hills, Calif. She was 94.
The Vancouver native's close friend and fellow actress Anne Jeffreys confirmed her death Monday night to the Los Angeles Times.
Jeffreys said Rutherford had been in declining health and suffered heart problems.
Rutherford made her film debut in 1935's "Waterfront Lady" and went on to make nearly 60 movies by 1950. The Times said she spent her later years attending events related to "Gone with the Wind," the 1939 film classic in which she played Carreen O'Hara, sister of Southern belle Scarlett, played by Vivien Leigh.
