CHICAGO, May 23 (UPI) -- A 26-year-old woman injured while working as an extra on the set of "Transformers 3" has settled her lawsuit for $18.5 million, the Chicago Tribune said.

No details regarding the exact terms of the lawsuit against Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks were immediately released, but The Hollywood Reporter said the deal was approved Wednesday by an Illinois judge.

Gabriela Cedillo's lawyer said the aspiring actress suffered significant brain damage and has undergone several surgeries since the 2010 mishap in Hammond, Ind.

Cedillo was hurt when a cable came loose from a stunt car and crashed through her vehicle's windshield.
