NEW YORK, May 5 (UPI) -- George Clooney's upcoming fundraiser for U.S. President Barack Obama's re-election campaign could rake in up to $12 million, the New York Post said.

Thursday's event at the movie star's home in Studio City, Calif., is sold out with supporters paying $40,000 per ticket for a total of $6 million, the newspaper said.

The Post said an online sweepstakes -- for which a winner who made a minimum $3 donation will win two tickets to the glitzy dinner -- also is estimated to have raised about $6 million.
