'Contraband' tops DVD sales, rental charts

SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 3 (UPI) -- Mark Wahlberg's smuggling thriller "Contraband" is the top-selling DVD and No. 1 rental in the United States, Rentrak said Thursday.

Coming in at No. 2 on the DVD and Blu-ray sales chart for the week ending April 29 is "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol," followed by "War Horse" at No. 3, "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" at No. 4 and "Beauty and the Beast" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season" at No. 6, "We Bought a Zoo" at No. 7, "The Muppets" at No. 8, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" at No. 9 and "The Darkest Hour" at No. 10.

The No. 2 DVD rental for the week ended April 28 is "Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol."

"We Bought a Zoo" is No. 3, "The Darkest Hour" is No. 4, "War Horse" is No. 5, "The Sitter" is No. 6, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is No. 7, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" is No. 8, "Dark Tide" is No. 9 and "The Descendants" is No. 10.
