"We do have a film crew on site, known only as the HH project. We are not allowing media on the set, per their request," lab spokeswoman Lynda Seaver told the Oakland Tribune in an e-mail Tuesday.
Filming is taking place in the lab's spacious National Ignition Facility where scientists experiment with ultraviolet laser light, said Dale Kaye, president of the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce and a Livermore Valley film commissioner.
"It's very futuristic in there, so I can see how that would be a good backdrop," Kaye told the newspaper.
