LOS ANGELES, April 4 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Jeremy Renner says he is determined to keep his personal life private but says he is not gay.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the star of the Oscar-winning film "The Hurt Locker" who will soon be seen in the comic-book adaptation "The Avengers" denied rumors he is gay.

"I want my personal life to be personal, and it's not [expletive] true," Renner, 41, said of the buzz.

"And I don't care if you're talking about things that are true, you're still talking about my personal life," Renner said. "How about I go peek in your window, take what underwear you wore last night, whose husband you were [expletive] and shove that in the megaphone throughout your neighborhood? How does that feel? It's none of your goddamn business."
