
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- "The Vow" and "Safe House" debuted at No. 1 and No. 2 in busy weekend U.S. box office receipts with $41.7 million and $39.3 million, respectively.
"Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" was No. 3 with $27. 5 million and "Star Wars: Episode 1-- The Phantom Menace (3D)" opened at No. 4 with $23 million, marking only the second time in history four movies have opened at more than $20 million, Box Office Mojo reported Sunday.
"Chronicle (2012) came in at No. 5 with 12.3 million.
All studio estimates of gross U.S. receipts are via Box Office Mojo.
"The Woman in Black" was sixth with $10.3 million; "The Grey" seventh with $5 million; "Big Miracle" eight with $3.9 million; and "The Descendants" ninth with $3.5 million.
"Underworld Awakening" rounded out the Top 10 with $2.5 million.
