NEW YORK, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Actor Macaulay Culkin, who appeared emaciated in a widely circulated photograph, bailed on his regular gig at a New York club, an employee said.

The "Entertainment Tonight" photo spread across the Internet Thursday prompting a statement from Culkin's rep saying, "Macaulay Culkin is in perfectly good health."

But the 32-year-old actor did not show up for his monthly disc jockey gig Thursday night at Le Poisson Rouge in Manhattan's West Village.

"He's here all the time. He comes pretty often. Tonight, something just came up and he couldn't make it," a club employee told People.com. "But he did drop off his iPod -- that's what's playing. It's a shame he's not here, because he always plays really good music."

Culkin was scheduled to start his DJ gig around 10 p.m., and around that time, the club taped a sign to a box by the bar telling entrants if they brought a canned good they could get inside for free to listen and dance to tunes pre-selected by "Mack," People.com said Friday.
