Seven films eligible for Makeup Oscar

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences says seven films remain in competition in the Makeup category for the 84th Academy Awards.

The films are "Albert Nobbs," "Anonymous," "The Artist," "Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," "Hugo" and "The Iron Lady."

All members of the academy's makeup branch will be invited to view 10-minute excerpts from each of the seven shortlisted films Jan. 21. Following the screenings, members will vote to nominate three films for final Oscar consideration.

Nominations for the 84th Academy Awards are to be announced Jan. 24. Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2011 are to be presented Feb. 26 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.
