BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lawrence is to help announce the names of this year's Oscar nominees, Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said Monday.

Lawrence and Academy President Tom Sherak will read aloud the nominees for the 84th Academy Awards during a Jan. 24 news conference.

Lawrence earned a nomination for her lead performance in "Winter's Bone" last year. She will be seen next in "The Hunger Games" and recently completed work on "The Silver Linings Playbook." Her film credits include "The Burning Plain," "Like Crazy," "The Beaver" and "X-Men: First Class."

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2011 will be presented Feb. 26, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
