Oscar nomination ballots mailed out

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Nomination ballots for the 84th Academy Awards were mailed Tuesday to the 5,783 voting members of Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Completed ballots must be returned by Jan. 13.

Oscar nominations are to be announced Jan. 24, and Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2011 will be presented Feb. 26 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, the academy said on its Web site.
