LOS ANGELES, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- "Game of Thrones" director Alan Taylor is to direct "Thor 2," the sequel to the blockbuster "Thor," The Hollywood Reporter said.
Patty Jenkins was initially attached to direct the movie, but she dropped out for creative reasons.
The first movie was directed by Kenneth Branagh, but he declined to helm the second installment, which is set for release in November 2013.
Chris Hemsworth will again play the titular hero.
The Hollywood Reporter said Marvel Studios did not comment on its story about Taylor's hiring when contacted.
