BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said Monday 15 films released in 2011 are eligible for nomination for the Visual Effects Oscar.

The list will be whittled down to five when the 84th Academy Awards nominations are announced Jan. 24. The Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2011 are to be presented Feb. 26 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.
