LONDON, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- British actor Ralph Fiennes says Twitter and and other social media are eroding the English language.
Fiennes, whose directorial debut of Shakespeare's "Coriolanus" premiered at the London Film Festival this week, said "a world of truncated sentences, soundbites and Twitter" has damaged people's ability to communicate expressively, The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.
Fiennes said he has been told that drama students are struggling with the density of a Shakespeare text "in a way that, perhaps, (students) a few generations ago maybe wouldn't have."
