'Steel' again takes No. 1 box office spot

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- "Real Steel," starring Hugh Jackman, was No. 1 at the U.S. box office for the second straight week, bringing in more than $16.3 million.

"Footloose," the remake starring Julianne Hough, was a very close second with $16.1 million.

All studio estimates of gross U.S. receipts are via Box Office Mojo.

"The Thing (2011)," a remake of a remake of a science fiction classic, was third with $8.7 million; "The Ides of March" fourth with $7.5 million; "Dolphin Tale" fifth with more than $6.34 million; "Moneyball" sixth with $5.5 million; "50/50" seventh with more than $4.31 million; "Courageous" eighth with $3.4 million; "The Big Year" ninth with more than $3.32 million.

And "The Lion King (in 3D)" was 10th with more than $2.7 million.
