BERLIN, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- American actress Kirsten Dunst says she has obtained dual U.S.-German citizenship and has her eye on living in Berlin.

Dunst, 29, said her new status will make it easier to work on European film productions, and also brings her closer to her ancestral roots.

People said Sunday that Dunst is the offspring of a German father and Swedish mom who frequently visits family in Hamburg and speaks a bit of German.

But Hamburg may be a little too quiet for the 29-year-old star. "I would prefer to buy an apartment in Berlin," she told the German newspaper B.Z. "It's such a young city, and right now so much is happening in Berlin"
