

NEW YORK, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Film stars Charlize Theron and Gary Oldman, and director David Cronenberg will be honored at the 21st annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York.
The Independent Filmmaker Project, which presents the awards, said the artists will be recognized with career tributes at the ceremony Nov. 28 at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan. They will join previously announced honoree Tom Rothman, chairman and chief executive officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment
Along with the tributes, competitive awards for Best Feature, Best Documentary, Breakthrough Director, Breakthrough Actor, Best Ensemble Performance, Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You and Audience Award will be announced.
"We are truly honored to pay tribute to four cinematic film luminaries, all of whom have greatly contributed to independent film, and have steadfastly supported the film community in their own individual and unique ways," Joana Vicente, IFP's executive director, said in a statement Thursday.
