SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Reese Witherspoon was recovering at home from minor injuries she sustained when struck by a car while jogging in California, the actress' spokeswoman said.
An 84-year-old woman was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian after she allegedly hit Witherspoon with her car in Santa Monica Wednesday morning as the actress crossed a street, the entertainment news Web site TMZ reported.

Witherspoon, a married mother of two young children, won an Oscar for her work in "Walk the Line."
Her other film credits include "Cruel Intentions," "Election," "Legally Blonde" and "The Importance of Being Earnest."
