CAIRO, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Egyptian actress and sex symbol Hend Rostom has died of a heart attack at a hospital in Cairo, her doctors told the Gulf News. She was 82.
Known as the Marilyn Monroe of the Egyptian cinema, Rostom starred in "Eve's Girls," "The Body," "I Can't Sleep," "Conflict on the Nile," "A Rumor with Love," "The Night's Empress" and "Bab Al Hadeed."

She retired from acting in 1979 and had kept a low profile in recent years, the Gulf News said.
