Sherak re-elected AMPAS president

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Tom Sherak has been re-elected president of Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which hands out Oscars for excellence in film each year.

The organization's board of governors announced his re-election Tuesday.

This will be Sherak's third consecutive one-year term in the office, and his ninth year as a governor representing the executives branch. He had previously served as academy treasurer.

A marketing, distribution and production executive with more than four decades of experience in the motion picture industry, Sherak is currently a consultant for Skydance Productions and Relativity Media.
