LONDON, June 29 (UPI) -- British actor Alan Rickman will star in the world premiere of Theresa Rebeck's new play "Seminar" on Broadway, the BBC reported Wednesday.

Rickman, whose film credits include the Harry Potter franchise, "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," "Sense & Sensibility," "Love Actually" and "Bottle Shock," earned Tony nominations in 1987 and 2002 for his work in the Broadway productions of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" and "Private Lives" respectively.

The BBC said he will play a famous writer teaching four aspiring scribes in "Seminar."
