
LOS ANGELES, June 26 (UPI) -- The animated "Cars 2," with the voices of Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy, took the weekend box office's No. 1 spot with $68 million in gross U.S. receipts.
"Bad Teacher Sony," with Cameron Diaz, was a strong but distant second with $31 million.
All studio estimates of gross U.S. receipts are via Box Office Mojo.
"Green Lantern" was third with $18.35 million; "Super 8" fourth with $12.1 million; "Mr. Popper's Penguins" fifth with $10.3 million; "X-Men: First Class" sixth with $6.6 million; "The Hangover Part II" seventh with more than $5.86 million; "Bridesmaids" eighth with more than $5.37 million; and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" ninth with more than $4.7 million.
"Midnight in Paris" rounded out the top 10 with more than $4.48 million.
