
LOS ANGELES, June 19 (UPI) -- "Green Lantern," starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, raked in more than $52.68 million to take the No. 1 spot at the U.S. box office during the weekend.
The sci-fi "Super 8," with Steven Spielberg among the producers, took in $21.25 million for the No. 2 spot.
All studio estimates of gross U.S. receipts are via Box Office Mojo.
"Mr. Popper's Penguins" was third with $18.2 million; "X-Men: First Class" fourth with $11.5 million; "The Hangover Part" fifth with more than $9.63 million; "Kung Fu Panda 2" sixth with $8.7 million; "Bridesmaids" seventh with more than $7.48 million; "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" eighth with more than $6.23 million; and "Midnight in Paris" ninth with more than $5.23 million.
"Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer" was 10th with more than $2.24 million.
