NEW YORK, June 8 (UPI) -- A stage musical adaptation of Daniel Wallace's fantasy novel "Big Fish" is headed to Broadway, the show's producers said Wednesday.
Director Tim Burton brought the book to the big screen in 2003.
The stage musical is to be helmed by Susan Stroman, the director and choreographer of "The Producers" and "The Scottsboro Boys," The New York Times said.
"Big Fish" is expected to open in spring 2012.
The show's stars and design team are to be announced soon, the Times quoted the musical's producers as saying.
