NEW YORK, April 24 (UPI) -- New York's annual Tribeca Film Festival is under way amid characteristic fanfare.
Sunday saw the premieres of "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne," "The Perfect Family" and "The Good Doctor," which stars Orlando Bloom as a medical resident gone mad, the New York Daily News reported.
The festival draws thousands of film aficionados, casual observers and directors alike for a week of premiers, short films and other events.
Among the titles, premieres have already been held for "The Bang Bang Club," with Ryan Phillippe as a combat photographer in South Africa, and "Angels Crest," a tragedy starring Mira Sorvino.
Thousands attended an outdoor screening of "Fame."
The Tribeca Film Festival runs through May 1. For schedules, tickets and directions, visit www.tribecafilm.com.
