Tim Robbins' parents both died in April

LOS ANGELES, April 20 (UPI) -- The parents of Hollywood actor Tim Robbins died this month within 12 days of each other, People.com reported.

Robbins is best known for his work in "Bull Durham" and "The Shawshank Redemption." He won an Oscar for his performance in "Mystic River."

People.com said his mother, Mary, died Sunday of a heart arrhythmia. She was 78.

Robbins' father, Gil, died of prostate cancer April 5. He was 80.

Both of the actors' parents died at their home in Esteban Cantu, Mexico, People.com noted.

Gil and Mary Robbins, who were professional musicians, were married for 59 years.
