LOS ANGELES, April 13 (UPI) -- Catherine Zeta-Jones's publicist says the Welsh-born actress has been treated for bipolar disorder.
Jones, 41, won an Oscar for her work in the movie musical "Chicago" and a Tony Award for her performance in the revival of "A Little Night Music." She is married to film star Michael Douglas, who recently was treated for throat cancer.
"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check into a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder," her representative said in a statement issued to TVGuide.com Wednesday. "She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films."
TVGuide.com said no other details were released, such as when and where she sought treatment or when she was diagnosed.
