CANNES, France, April 6 (UPI) -- Actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger showed a clip from his new animated series "The Governator" at a television conference in France.

The potential franchise will follow a fictionalized version of Schwarzenegger as he leaves political life to become a crime fighter.

"First will come ['The Governator'] comic books, then a [cartoon] TV series and after that we will develop the games and then a movie," The Hollywood Reporter quoted Schwarzenegger as saying at MipTV in Cannes Monday. "Maybe then we'll be back in Cannes for that."

The action-movie icon's latest project is being developed by famed comic-book creator Stan Lee, as well as Andy and Amy Heyward of the production company A Squared Entertainment.

Schwarzenegger also confirmed at the television conference that he is lining up live-action features in which to star, but he did not offer any details regarding his upcoming movies, The Hollywood Reporter said.
