LOS ANGELES, March 21 (UPI) -- Turner Classic Movies says it will commemorate the 150th anniversary of America's Civil War with a month-long programming spotlight.

Among the films the cable network will screen in April are "The Birth of a Nation," "The General," "Raintree County," "Friendly Persuasion," "Southern Yankee," "Glory," "Gettysburg," "The Littlest Rebel," "The Red Badge of Courage" and "Golden Girl."

"Mondays and Wednesdays in April, TCM will present a wide range of stories from both the battlefield and the home front," the network said in a news release Monday. "TCM's commemoration of the Civil War begins April 4, with the beloved 'Gone with the Wind....' The Civil War showcase comes to an end April 27, with a night of movies about the war's politics and the difficult post-war reconstruction. The lineup includes D.W. Griffith's presidential biography, 'Abraham Lincoln,' with Walter Huston, and 'Tennessee Johnson,' a look at the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson, played by Van Heflin."
