India fire destroys 'Slumdog' actor's home

BANDRA, India, March 5 (UPI) -- Indian child actress Rubina Ali said Saturday her home in Bandra was destroyed by a fire that also consumed memorabilia from her role in "Slumdog Millionaire."

The 12-year-old Ali, who played the young Latika in the 2008 Oscar-winning film, was apparently not injured but she and her family were left homeless, Press Trust of India said.

The Times of India said the fire swept through a shantytown in Bandra and destroyed about 500 small homes.
