'Swan' wins Spirit Award for Best Picture

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- The ballet thriller "Black Swan" won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Picture at a ceremony in Santa Monica, Calif., Saturday.

The film's female lead Natalie Portman won the Best Actress award, while Darren Aronofsky won for Best Director and Matthew Libatique for Best Cinematography.

James Franco picked up the statuette for Best Actor for "127 Hours," while "Winter's Bone" co-stars John Hawkes and Dale Dickey took home the prizes for Best Supporting Actor and Actress, respectively.

"Exit Through the Gift Shop" earned the Best Documentary Feature accolade and "The King's Speech" was declared the Best Foreign Film.
